Deira

Deira is the historic heart of Dubai, situated on the eastern bank of the Dubai Creek. Known as the city's oldest commercial district, it is a bustling maze of traditional heritage and modern trade. Deira is world-famous for its atmospheric souks—specifically the Gold Souk and Spice Souk. While it maintains its deep-rooted merchant history, the area has undergone significant modernization through the Deira Enrichment Project (DEP) and the development of the Deira Islands (now known as Dubai Islands).
