The construction of the artificial Palm Jumeirah island began in 2001. The unique project was successfully implemented by Nakheel company, which has been working on it for 5.5 years.
The man-made island belongs to the archipelago “Palm Islands”. It also includes Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira. With its outlines, Palm Jumeirah resembles a date palm tree. The area is 5.72 km2, which can be equated to the area of 600 football fields. The coastline of the island is almost 79 km.

The artificial Palm Jumeirah island is divided into three parts: “tree trunk”, “crown with branches” and “crescent of breakwaters”. The “Trunk” represents the central part of the island and is connected to the mainland by a 300-meter-long bridge.
