In the very heart of Dubai, a ring-shaped complex Downtown Circle is planned to be constructed. It will go around the Burj Khalifa at a height of 550 meters and will be three kilometres long.
The ambitious project was designed by Najmus Chowdhry and Nils Remess, co-founders of the architecture firm ZNera Space, and is falling under the concept of “vertical urbanism”.
The new multifunctional complex is an effective alternative to traditional single, unconnected skyscrapers in megapolises. Downtown Circle will stand on five vertical pillars and will consist of two residential rings. The central ridge forms a green zone – Skypark, where canyons, sand dunes, swamps, waterfalls, digital caves and tropics will be presented.
Residents and visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the panoramic view of Dubai. Residential and commercial facilities, office and cultural spaces, as well as research centres, are provided.
Along the outer perimeter ring at 100 km / h, twenty suspended capsules will move along to transport passengers around Downtown Circle. A helipad will be located on the roof of the inner ring. Areas for collecting rainwater, solar energy, and air filtration systems are planned to be included.
